Nolan's prayers (unassisted and unguided)

Dear God,
I pray that I can be kind today and not get angry.

Dear God,
I pray that mommy doesn't have to get her tummy cut open to have the baby.

1st Grade Show: One World, One Voice!!

Alivia had her 1st grade show at her school and enjoyed being assigned a speaking part. She did a wonderful job. I am so proud of her and how hard she worked to learn and memorize her part. She was confident, spoke clearly, and rocked her part. She had so much fun with her speaking part and singing with her classmates!

She is such a beautiful girl and we love her so much! She wanted her hair curled for the performance. She is getting so big!

And She Said (Lemonade)!!

Alivia was  having a hard day so I told her she had to make lemonade out of lemons. She told me she didn't understand so I explained to her that lemons are sour but lemonade is sweet. Sometimes you can have a sour mood or have situations that are sour, but if we take the positive out of the situation we can find lemonade or have a sweet mood. She nodded and I dropped her off at school. A few days later, something upset her and she walked away to calm down. She came back with a solution to her problem that was upsetting her and said "I made lemonade!" Yes, you did sweet girl. I hope she makes lemonade often when she is tossed lemons in life or chooses a sweet attitude over a sour one!

From the show This is Us-
I like to think that one day you'll be an old man like me talkin' a young man's ear off explainin' to him how you took the sourest lemon that life has to offer and turned it into something resembling lemonade.

And She Said (Skinny Jeans)!!

We were all talking about who looked like who in our family and Ben said to Alivia, "You have skinny genes!" She was wearing leggings and looked down and said, "I am not wearing skinny jeans!!" So funny and she got her first true lesson in genetics where we explained what genes are (in a simple way). :)
